This complex is composed of a church, and Mary's Fountain. According to Greek Orthodox tradition , this fountain was the actual location of the Annunciation. The present Fountain of Mary is modern and is on a different site from the original fountain, which is said to be under the altar of the Greek Orthodox church of St Gabriel, a little way north - also well worth a visit for the sake of its decoration.
