The Weizmann Institute in Rehovot covers a broad spectrum of research in natural sciences. It has several departments (biology, physics and chemistry) and a number of sub-departments (e.g. plant genetics, microbiology). World-known scientists lecture in the institute. Some 1,800 people work in the Institute, including some 500 students working for their final assignments.
House of Haim Weizmann, Israel's first president, situated next to the Weizmann Institute. After the death of Weizmann and his wife, who are buried at the site, their residence was turned into a museum of Weizmann's art collections and belongings. In the garden is Weizmann's grave.
