Ancient caves and settlement on the northern shores of the Dead Sea where the oldest biblical documents ever found trace the history and daily lives of the mystical Essenes, a Jewish sect that fled Jerusalem 2000 years ago.
The remains of an ancient settlement on the banks of the Dead Sea many believe to have been inhabited by a cult of the Essenes. Ancient scrolls including biblical texts, the Apocrypha and the group's texts, were found secreted in nearby caves. A museum recreates the settlement, and features a 3-D audiovisual show.
