The Tel Megiddo National Park offers a variety of interesting archeological findings. Visitors will want to admire the Canaanite gate from the late Bronze age (1550-1200 BC), the remains of the castle, and the Bronze-age Solomonic gate.
A model of the complex archeological structure of the tell (man-made hill) is on display at the museum. A film about Tel Megiddo is also screened at the museum.
Megiddo's application as “Armageddon” came from Christians who coined the phrase from its name "Har Megiddo", the Hill of Megiddo. They felt it was an appropriate metaphor to describe ceaseless carnage it had endured.
