The Old Technion (College of Technology) was built between 1914 and 1924 to the design of a Berlin architect, Alexander Baerwald. It combines Oriental features with western ideas on the organization of space. The Old Technion now houses the Institute of Architecture and the Museum of Science and Technology, featuring over 400 hands-on exhibits that explain various scientific phenomena. There is also an exhibition of Albert Einstein's astronomical devices. He visited the Technion in 1923.. The larger New Technion is in the southeastern district of Qiryat HaTechnion
