The city of Corazim flourished during the mishnaic and talmudic periods. The names of Corazim, Beit Zaida, and Kfar Nahum are introduced together in the New Testament: Jesus cursed the three cities because they refused to accept him(Matthew 11:20). The town and the synagogue appear to have been destroyed in the latter part of the fourth century and were rebuilt in the fifth century.
Most of the ruins visible today are from the third-fourth centuries CE. The site in addition to the synagogue features a ritual bath (mikveh), various dwellings, and an olive press.
Corazin National Park is located on Rt. 90 between Corazin junction and Almagor.
