For bird-watchers there are guided walks on special paths in Eilat with hides at intervals. These are particularly interesting in spring and autumn , when large numbers of migrant birds pass through the Eilat area on their way from Africa to Europe or back.
The drinking well for the shy and rare Lichtenstein's sand grouse that nests in the Eilat mountains and Sinai. Acacia groves in the area attract a variety of rare species, as well as desert species such as finches and trumpeters.
