Beit She'arim - National Park

Ancient site with remnants of the ancient Jewish city, Beit She'arim, in the middle of which are the remnants of a large synagogue and a graveyard: 100 burial caves are hewn on different levels, including that of Yehuda Ha-Nasi, the sealer of the Mishna. Nearby is a statue of Alexander Zaid, a Second Aliya pioneer and one of the founders of the "Ha-Shomer" (the Guard) organization. The statue is located on a hill, from which the view to the Yizrael valley is spectacular. The site can be reached either from the north from Tivon or from Sede Yaakov.
