The National park focal point is the remains of the Roman-Byzantine city. This archeological site displays the Roman-Byzantine city as it was nearly 2000 years ago, including a 7000-seat amphitheatre and public bath houses. The extensive renovation and preservation works have made it possible for special performances to take place in the ancient theatre and its surroundings.
The national park also includes a 50-meters high Tel (a man-made hill) covering the remains of the ancient settlement of Beit She'an. The Tel contains remnants of dozens of layers of settlements, from the Chalcolithic period until the end of the 12th century. There is a view of the surrounding area from the top of the Tel.
