   Baram National Park

The ancient synagogue of the village of Baram was constructed from large and particularly beautiful cut stones. The synagogue, which is preserved and has been well restored, dates from the second or third century and is thus one of the oldest buildings in the country. The facade, which is preserved almost in its entirety, is especially remarkable. All three gates face Jerusalem and are decorated with exquisite stone engravings.

According to tradition the prophet Obadiah and Esther, wife of the Persian king Xerxes (ahashverosh), were buried in Bar'am.
Baram National Park is on Route 899 (the North Road), 15 minutes from Sasa junction.
